Zero Server Upload Guarantee

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026 • Effective immediately

1. Core Privacy Principle: 100% Client-Side Execution

MarkdownKite was intentionally architected from day one so that your Markdown documents, code snippets, proprietary notes, and tables never leave your local device. Every conversion (HTML to Markdown, Markdown to PDF, Markdown to Image, diffing, linting, and redacting) executes entirely in your browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Web APIs. We have no backend databases storing your document content.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

When you use our 50 dedicated Markdown tools:

  • We do not upload, read, or store any text or files you type or drop into the tools.
  • We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) from your documents.
  • We do not transmit your API keys, credentials, or code snippets to external servers.

3. Local Storage (In-Browser Only)

Certain productivity tools (such as the Markdown Editor) offer an optional auto-save feature that saves your active draft in your browser's standard localStorage so you do not lose your work if your tab accidentally closes. This data resides strictly on your local machine and can be cleared at any time by clicking "Clear" or clearing your browser cookies and site data.

4. Third-Party Advertising & Cookies

MarkdownKite is free to use worldwide. To support ongoing server hosting and edge CDN distribution, we display non-intrusive banner advertisements provided by ad networks (such as Adsterra). These third-party networks may use standard cookies or web beacons to serve relevant ads. You can manage or disable advertising cookies via your browser settings or standard opt-out portals.

5. Contact & Questions

If you have questions regarding our client-side architecture or privacy practices, please contact the MarkdownKite engineering team at privacy@markdownkite.org.
